Hello and thanks for visiting my website. Here's a bit about myself...
My name is HR Hegnauer. I'm a full-time freelance designer based in Denver, Colorado, but I work with clients all across the country.
I've worked with independent, university, and corporate publishers over the past several years, and aim to be doing this for many more to come. Check out my resume page to see which specific publishers I've worked with and the kinds of projects we've created. And feel free to send me an email about books you want designed! Beyond books, I've also designed websites, catalogs, brochures, and other special projects.
I began my college education by going to art school for Photography and Graphic Design, and then I continued on for my Bachelor of Arts in English and my Master of Fine Arts in Writing & Poetics. I also have a certificate in HTML website coding. I began my publishing work in New York City, and have since moved to Colorado where I'm continuing my freelance book and website design with clients across the country.
I'm also excited to announce my first chapbook, Sir, which has just recently been published by Portable Press @ Yo-Yo Labs! This chapbook is an attempt at thinking about what it means to be a human alongside another human, especially as we age. I've been writing through what a memory can be and how to preserve it; how to keep it, lose it, and try to retrieve it over time. This project wonders how to grieve the loss of memory at the same time as the loss of life, while trying to keep in mind that we are living right now. I am indebted to my grandparents who have inspired the characters of Sir & Mrs. Alice. To read more about Sir or purchase a copy ($8 with free shipping), please click here to visit the publisher's website. Thanks for your interest in it!
The easiest way to get in contact with me is through email.
